School Championship Tournament
Saturday, December 5
Houston Sword Sports @ The Zone
10371 Stella Link Rd
Test your skills and represent your school! All fencers receive a foam sword and a point for their school toward the Golden Mask championship trophy. Top four finishers receive a medal and additional points for the school. The winning school earns the Golden Mask trophy for the semester!
Open to all Houston Sword Sports youth members. Register before December 1.
Fencers: Wear comfortable clothing and close-toed athletic shoes. We recommend a shirt representing your school. Be sure to arrive at least 15-30 minutes before the listed start time for your event so you have time to suit up.
Format: The first round is a pool round, where fencers are divided into equal groups of 4-7 and fence everyone in their group to 5 points. Then, the top fencers advance to a direct elimination bracket, where they will fence to 8 points (for 1st-3rd graders) or 10 points (for 4th grade and up). Top four finishers receive medals.
Event length: Events can vary in length depending on a number of factors including the number of participants. We expect that each event will last about 2-3 hours, but cannot predict more precisely than that.
Parents and families: Come dressed for cold A/C.
